CHED has worked with the UQ
Social Science and Humanities Library to develop a substantial collection of relevant archival materials for use by researchers and postgraduate students. Most noteworthy in this collection are:
Early English Books Online
Early English Books Online (EEBO) contains digital facsimile page images of virtually every work printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America from 1473 to 1700. It also includes the complete Thomason Tract collection of pamphlets, books, newspapers and manuscripts issued from 1640 to 1661.
The Harold Jantz Collection
The Harold Jantz Collection of German Baroque Literature contains nearly 10,000 volumes which offer a comprehensively detailed view of German literature and culture primarily from the Baroque period (1615-1745), along with some pre-Baroque and post-Baroque materials. Note that "literature" is used here in a broad sense that is usual in German: in addition to works of literature, there are many works of scientific, political, juristic, theological, philosophical, cultural, and ethnographic importance. This is a deep collection which includes the minor works of major authors, the major works of minor authors, and even, in some cases, the minor works of minor authors. Because of its inclusiveness, the Jantz Collection offers scholars the opportunity to form a particularly complete picture of its areas of specialty. One great strength of the Jantz collection is its many literary works, especially those of "forgotten" authors. An online index of the collection is available
here.
Eighteenth Century Collections Online
Eighteenth Century Collections Online is a comprehensive digital edition of The Eighteenth Century microfilm set, which has aimed to include every significant English-language and foreign-language title printed between 1701 and 1800 in the United Kingdom, together with other eighteenth-century works from the Americas.
18th- and 19-Century French Fiction by Less Well-Known Women Writers
Much of this material has been purchased from the
Bibliothèque Nationale de France. A principal author in this collection is Félicité de Choiseul-Meuse.
Digital Library of Classic Protestant Texts
The Digital Library of Classic Protestant Texts is a fully searchable database featuring more than 1,200 volumes from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It includes theological texts from the Lutheran, Reformed, Anglican and Anabaptist traditions, together with selections of confessional documents, biblical commentaries, polemical treatises, catechisms and liturgical works.
Digital Karl Barth Library
The Digital Karl Barth Library is a fully searchable online collection of Karl Barth's works. It includes the volumes of Barth's major work, the
Church Dogmatics, as well as the volumes of the
Barth Gesamtausgabe, which features sermons, lectures, academic writings, conversations and correspondence.
